Somerset County Council are working on a project to attract great social workers to our beautiful county and Visit Somerset have been supporting us along the way; helping us raise awareness of what our county has to offer; we want people to visit Somerset, work in Somerset, live in Somerset.
John Turner, (CEO) and his team have been amazing. They truly believe that we can all make a difference to vulnerable children and families in Somerset, whatever sector we work in, and their presence at social worker recruitment events, their support with materials and stand design and their ongoing tireless enthusiasm has made the first 6 months of our 2 year project really show that working together does, in fact, work.
We are about to embark on the retention part of our project and John and his team are already coming up with innovative suggestions for the next 18 months for this and to further develop the recruitment work we are doing; there are exciting times ahead.
John, thank you and your team for your support - We couldn’t have made the difference we have in the last 6 months without the team at Visit Somerset, we are looking forward to continuing to make a difference over the next 18 months and hope to continue working together well after the project is finished.
